FRIGHTMARES

We took Dax to Frightmares (Lagoon) today and no, amusement parks are not our favorite past time lately but we had bought the tickets before we left for our cruise/Disneyland! We thought after spending three days at Disneyland that Lagoon would be pretty disappointing but we were pleasantly surprised. They actually had a TON of stuff for Dax to do and he had a ball! Don't get me wrong, Disneyland kicks Lagoons trash! I was able to go on their new ride "Wicked" and it was so fun. I don't mind going on rides by myself, I have gotten used to it (poor Nate). Anyway, here are some of the pics of Daxtons first trip to Lagoon.

The three of us on the train ride. I had never been on that before and it was pretty neat. You see a ton of animals (bears, tigers, zebras, kangaroos, etc.) on the ride, it's like a short zoo trip!

No idea who the kid in front is, it was the only seat left.

Look at him big pimpin with his arm up.

Me and Dax on the sky ride! I was kinda amazed at the rides he was able to go on!

So animated! He honestly does this stuff on his own and it just keeps getting better!

This was Daxton's favorite ride. We went on it four times and every time it stopped he would freak out.

Why are we taking the only family pic by a garbage can? Also, cute pic Aub! Could you look more hideous?

What a fun day!! Thanks Nate for taking us to Frightmares. I have the best husband ever - he hardly goes on any of the rides (cuz he gets sick) and yet he never complains. We love you babe!

Halloween Party

We went to a Halloween party at our friends house tonight and here are some of the pics from it! We are still supposed to be on our cruise so our costumes are kinda lame seeing as how we put them together last minute. Sorry the pictures suck, I HATE OUR CAMERA!!! Nate, that's for you! ;)

Me as the 8o's chick!

Just an upclose shot to give you a better look at the makeup! What's sad is this hairstyle is pretty close to my highschool hairdo - minus the ratted bangs and glitter. 1980 or 1998??

Nate the pimp!!

Dax the cowboy! I know I already have a pic like this on here but I had to show the posing. After watching Nate and I pose he did this all on his own. What a goofus!

Cameron & Heather Jones! He's a preist and she's a pregnant nun!! (She really is prego and due in January.)

Ben & Lisa Jones! They had name tags that said Jean on them so they are a pair of blue jeans.

Steve & Alison Tiek! They were the characters from the movie Anchorman!

Dave & Christine Gilbert! They hosted the party and Dave was Frankenstein and she was the bride.

Justin & Helena Caldwell! Senor & senorita, so funny!

The Sumkos!

The whole gang! It's a miracle we got a group picture, it never happens.

Boys playing the donut game. Guys went first then the girls went.

Pretty self explanitory (and attractive)!!

Nate & Ben having a moment! Notice the hand, weirdos!!

It was so fun to get together and see everybody, it has been a while! Thanks Dave & Christine, we had so much fun. And thank you Ben & Lisa for not bringing your kids, we didn't feel one bit stupid! :)

Were back!!! And yes...a little too early!

So do I have a story for you!! Well as you know, we were going on a cruise to Mexico that was leaving out of LA! We left on Saturday and our plan was that we were going to stay in Mesquite that night and then get up and finish the rest of the way to LA. (Yes we drove and no we shouldn't have!) So, everything was going smoothly until we hit outside of Vegas. There was HORRIBLE traffic starting from Vegas going all the way and throughout California. Well we left Mesquite at seven a.m. and our boat didn't start boarding until 2 p.m. so you would think we would have plenty of time to get there right? WRONG!!! Because of the fires in California, traffic was stop and go the whole way and then dead stopped in Cali for an hour(they were closing off a bunch off highways and freeways)! So we started calling the cruise port to tell them we were coming and after being past around six different people we were told that we would be fine. Our boat was leaving at 5 p.m. and we pulled up to the gate at 4:21pm! The man at the gate would not let us in and he called his supervisor to talk to us. That man told Nate that if we had been there at 4:20 (one min earlier) we could have got in but that it was too late. We told him about the freeways and fires and he could have cared less! Nate was begging him to let us through and he was the biggest jerk! It was sooooo frustrating to be standing there looking at our boat, not leaving the dock, and to not be able to do anything. So yeah, we hate Royal Caribbean and tell anybody you know to avoid cruising with them!
So, what to do with our trip! Well, we decided to take Dax to Disneyland!!! What started out as a horrible trip turned out to be pretty great. It was so fun to see him there and watch his face. He loved it and could have stayed there forever. We lucked out with the timing because there were no crowds. We walked on every ride and Dax got to see a lot of the characters. I don't know if any of you have been there for Halloween but it is amazing. They have the parks all decorated and the characters are in their costumes, it's so cute! So, we are back early (we weren't going to be back until Sunday) but we had a lot of fun! Here are some of the pics we took.

Nate and Dax caught up with the Incredibles while we were on a ride! Dax can't take his eyes of the muscles!

Waiting to get into the Bugs Life 3D movie. Dax was freaked out by the grasshopper!

Goof ball!! Always trying to make people laugh. Hmmmm, I wonder where he gets that from?

The moment we all were waiting for! Daxton LOVES mickey and this was so neat. They took him into a room by himself to meet Mickey and Dax thought that was the coolest thing ever!

After meeting Mickey we got him the stuffed animal and his first set of ears with his name on the back!

Daxton with his Gamma and Papa Hawker! (We had just got off splash mountain.)

Nate gets sick on most rides so I am the parent that takes the kids on the rides. Notice the thumbs up!

This was our last day at Disneyland and he finally gave into sleep. Three days there and he only fell asleep once.

Daxtons first experience with cotton candy and as you can imagine it was a success!

Toon town!

Me and my dad on the California adventure roller coaster. My dad loves rides just like I do so he was my ride partner most of the trip. He made sure we were in the front every time.

Lookin a little ornery - Dax with his other favorite, Lightning McQueen!

Pooh Bear! If you're wondering about my hair, we had just gotten off Splash Mountain and yes I got wet!

Cute little ride in Bugs Land!

For some reason, this was the only picture we got with everybody and I know my eyes are closed but whatever!!

Even though our plans didn't work out, we had so much fun. What was weird was after the cruise fell through, people started telling us what a bad feeling they had about us going (Nate, my sister, Nate's mom) and my dad had a dream a few nights before we left that Dax fell off the boat and he had to jump in after him! So maybe we were being blessed by not going on the cruise and I'm glad we didn't have to find out the hard way. It was so much fun having my parents with us (Love you guys!) and Dax absolutely loved it.

BON VOYAGE!!!!

Well, we are heading off to LA to get on our cruise. We planned this so long ago, I thought it would never come. However, it is here and we are so excited. We are taking Dax and my parents so there will be lots of pics to put on here when we get back. See you all in a week!

I have been tagged by Tara!

The rules:
Player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and posts a comment letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read our blog for the rules.

1. I LOVE SALT! To the point it could be a problem and I know it's not good for you but there is something addicting about it.

2. Nate and I have a tradition at Christmas that we have done for the last six years (nine for me). We (just the two of us) go out to eat somewhere fun and then we go see The Forgotten Carols. I love it, Christmas wouldn't be the same without it!

3. Daxton was a surprise. I had an IUD when I found out and they say there is a .008% chance of getting preganant when you have an IUD.

4. I am TERRIFIED that something is going to happen to me and that I am going to die at a young age and take me away from Daxton and Nate.

5. I have to take two tablespoons of mineral oil every night before I go to bed (complications from Daxton's birth) and I will the rest of my life. Yuck!!

6. I love rainy and dreary weather, it's my favorite!

I am going to tag: Stacee, Katie Price, Kristi, Lindsay, Sarah, Katie Dickson!

Night out at the corn maze!!

I took Daxton to the corn maze/pumpkin patch in Syracuse tonight with my neighbor. It was a ton of fun and there was so much to do. Dax had a ball and I had so much fun watching him. He is at such a fun age right now, I love it!

Daxton and his friend Kinley (our neighbor) trying to feed the goat! They have a bunch of animals there.

Daxton And Kinley again stopping for a pose on the hay bail!

Riding the train pull along thing. He was the caboose!

This was just a picture by a pumpkin that turned out pretty cool. Dax kept saying, "I'm tall mama!".

Me & Dax on the hayride. They drove us out to a huge field where we got to pick pumpkins. I love my little guy!

Family Halloween Party

We had our family Halloween party on Saturday and these are some of the pictures from that night. As you can see, Daxton is a cowboy. Pretty hilarious!

Daxton and his cousins!

Decorating sugar cookies, no he is not wearing lipstick - it's frosting!

These are the pumpkins we carved. Nate carved the one with the "S" and I carved the face.
