Our weekend in San Antonio......

Part of Nate's Christmas were two tickets to a Spurs game......in San Antonio! He LOVES the Spurs and since it has been FOREVER since we have had an over nighter I decided to surprise him with a weekend getaway to his old hometown. He lived in San Antonio until he was eleven so I knew he would like that. We left last Friday morning (early) and got home late Sunday night. The best part.....we didn't take the boys! Don't get me wrong, I love my boys more than life its self but we needed to get away just the two of us, probably me more than him! We seriously had the best time. I love my husband! I am not kidding you, I had forgotten what it was like to be alone with him and it didn't take long to remember. It was like when we were first married, no responsibility! We did all the things that are not easy to do with kids and the weekend went by way too fast! We went to the Spurs game of course, we went and saw the Alamo, went on the river walk, went to three movies (yes, three). We went and saw Nate's old stomping grounds, went out to eat (A LOT unfortunately), went shopping, and got lost many a times! We decided that we really need to do this every six months or so. Nate's job is crazy and demanding so we really don't get to spend a lot of time with him, especially alone time so this was very much needed. I definitely recommend everyone getting away with just your hubby, even if it is just the weekend, that's all ya need! Here are some pics!

At the Spurs game! That's right, we wore the fan attire!

The championship trophies!

The Alamo

More of the Alamo!

The Riverwalk!

Nate's old house at Fort Sam San Antonio (army base). Cool story....this house is in the process of being completely renovated (that's why it looks so scary - that and because it's haunted) so nobody is living in it. The construction workers let us walk through and get some pics which was so cool. I have heard so many stories about this house and it was so neat to see where they all took place. This house was built in 1911 or something like that. What's sad is that they are tearing down all the old history in it and putting up new.

Nate's bedroom!

Hands down, funnest weekend ever! Thank you to our Moms for watching the boys, you have no idea how much that meant to us.

As a side note, a lot of you have asked where we stayed when we went to Vegas. The hotel is called Grandview at Las Vegas! It is expensive if you book far in advance but if you book the week of, it is really cheap ($73 a night). It's off the strip but who cares if you have a car right?

Vegas Baby

Nate had a relative getting married in the Las Vegas Temple this weekend so we decided Thursday night to go. We left Friday at three in the afternoon and we were back Sunday night at seven. Very short trip but it was still fun! Most of the day Saturday was spent with the wedding but once that was over we took the boys to the shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay. That was really neat! They let you pet the sting ray which Dax LOVED! Then we did a little shopping at the outlets and had dinner at a buffet (you can't go to Vegas and not eat a buffet - Sumko theory). It's always fun to go to Vegas!!!

Our hotel room! We seriously found the best place to stay and it was CHEAP!!

You can't stay in a hotel room that has a jetted tub and not use it! We never did get all the bubbles down the drain.

The only downfall of the room was there was no where for Talan to roll around, hence the marks on his head.

The shark exhibit.

They have a huge tank with the biggest jelly fish I have ever seen and we got a pic of it but it didn't turn out. I am terrified of them! That was our weekend! Now I am getting caught up on laundry and listening to a screaming, teething baby - love these days!

Finally.....

So, I took the boys pics in October and have not been able to post them because they were Christmas presents. Now I can, yah!!! Don't worry, I'm not starting up my own business. I have a really nice camera with lots of fun gadgets so I have decided that I am not paying anyone to take my kids pics when I can probably do it myself. So here they are! Blogger ruins pictures so know they look a lot better in person and also know that I am learning and not a professional!

Christmas

One of my friends was teasing me about my last post and how I was saying how much I loved Christmas and then I didn't post the entire month. I really do love Christmas but December was so crazy, I never had any time to update our blog. So here is a condensed version of our month. We had a great Christmas and did lots of fun things. We went to seven Christmas parties, Nate and I went to the Forgotten Carols for the eighth year in a row, Daxton got to sit on Santa's lap, went to the Voice Male concert with our friends, went to the movie and Spaghetti Factory with my family (tradition), lots of crazy Christmas shopping, went Christmas caroling with Nate's family (we do it every year), went to Island Park snowmobiling with my family, spent time with family and friends! Daxton got the geo trax set that he has been dying over for about three months now. He also got a pirate ship, helicopter and motorcycles. Talan got some new baby toys and clothes. I got xm radio for my car, a jewelry box that stands on four legs, perfume, clothes and gift cards. Nate got clothes, shoes, a spoiler for his car and cologne. I always get sad when Christmas is over but today I am taking down Christmas and I'm ready, it looks yucky when it's over. I am posting lots of pics so be prepared!

Nate's grandma came to stay over Thanksgiving so we took a four generation picture.
